Mercedes-BenzIndia has been on a launching spree of late, with the latest one being the new-gen C-Class. The next product that the company is planning to bring in will be the much-awaited CLA-Class. The performance-oriented model of the car, the CLA 45 AMG, is already on sale in India.
Expected to be priced below Rs. 30 lakh, this entry-level luxury sedan will be launched in January 2015. The car will take on the Audi A3 sedan, which currently is the most affordable luxury car in India.
The CLA-Class will be based on the company's MFA (Modular Front-Wheel Drive Architecture) platform, on which the A-Class, B-Class, GLA-Class, CLA 45 AMG and GLA 45 AMG are also based.
Powering the CLA-Class might be the same engines that are doing duty on the GLA-Class compact SUV i.e. a 2.2-litre 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel and a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol. Both the engines will be paired to a 7G-DCT automatic transmission.
